Lima, Amazon, Cusco & Machu Picchu Luxury Journey – 10 Days / 9 Nights

Experience the three faces of Peru on a fully private 10-day luxury journey, designed by local experts with more than 30 years of experience. You'll travel from the coast to the rainforest and the Andes, staying in 5-star hotels, with private guides, private transportation and 24/7 assistance throughout.

Questions before you go

Clear answers for planning this tour.

Is 10 days enough to visit Lima, the Amazon, Cusco and Machu Picchu?

Yes. This private 10-day journey is designed to cover the coast, the rainforest and the Andes at a comfortable pace. After Lima and the Amazon, the route continues to the Sacred Valley, which sits lower than Cusco, so you can acclimatize naturally before the higher-altitude activities.

Are hotels included in the tour price?

Yes. The US$7,200 per person price includes 9 nights in 5-star hotels: Belmond Miraflores Park (Lima), Inkaterra Reserva Amazónica (Amazon), Tambo del Inka (Sacred Valley), Sumaq Machu Picchu Hotel (Aguas Calientes) and JW Marriott El Convento (Cusco). Upgrades to Belmond Monasterio or Belmond Palacio Nazarenas in Cusco are available at an additional cost.

Is this suitable for kids?

Yes, but the hikes on Day 7 and 8 are tough. We can swap them for easier cultural activities.

What is the Amazon experience like?

You'll spend two nights at Inkaterra Reserva Amazónica, one of the most renowned eco-lodges in Peru. With expert naturalist guides, you'll explore the canopy walkways, canoe on Lake Sandoval and join a night excursion to discover the rainforest's wildlife. All meals at the lodge are included.

What should I know about altitude sickness?

Cusco is located at about 3,400 m (11,155 ft), while the Sacred Valley is lower, at about 2,870 m (9,420 ft). That's why the Andes portion of this journey begins in the Sacred Valley, giving your body time to adjust gently. Rainbow Mountain reaches 5,036 m (16,522 ft) and is scheduled for Day 9, once you are well acclimatized. Travelers with medical concerns should consult their doctor before traveling.

Is the Rainbow Mountain hike difficult?

The hike is moderate to challenging, mainly because of the high altitude. It is done at your own pace with a private guide and private transportation from Cusco. Horses can be rented on site for an additional cost. Humantay Lake is available as an alternative upon request.

Are domestic flights included?

Yes. All domestic flights are included: Lima–Puerto Maldonado, Puerto Maldonado–Cusco and Cusco–Lima. International flights to and from Peru are not included.

Which meals are included?

Daily breakfast at your hotels, all meals at Inkaterra Reserva Amazónica, dinner at Tambo del Inka, lunch at El Huacatay restaurant, dinner at Sumaq Machu Picchu Hotel, lunch at the Belmond Sanctuary Lodge, and breakfast and lunch during the Rainbow Mountain excursion. Dietary needs can be arranged in advance.

Is the Machu Picchu entrance ticket included?

Yes. Your official Machu Picchu entrance ticket, round-trip shuttle bus and private guide are included. Tickets are subject to availability, so we recommend booking as early as possible. Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain can be added as an option.

Is this a private tour?

Yes. This journey is operated directly by TrueAndes, with private transportation, private English-speaking guides in Lima, the Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu and Cusco, and 24/7 assistance from our team. In the Amazon, excursions are led by Inkaterra's expert naturalist guides.
