What travellers say

Questions before you go

Clear answers for planning this tour.

How many people are in a group?

We keep groups small, typically between 8 to 14 trekkers, to ensure a friendly atmosphere and personalized attention from the guides.

Do I need to carry my own gear?

You carry your daypack (water, camera, layers). If you hire an extra porter (optional), they will carry your sleeping bag and clothes (up to 7kg).

Is a sleeping bag included?

No, but you can rent a high-quality, sanitized sleeping bag from TrueAndes for the duration of the trek.

What are the toilets like?

The park provides squat toilets at campsites. TrueAndes also brings a portable chemical toilet tent for the exclusive use of our group at lunch spots and camp.

Can I charge my phone?

There is no electricity on the trail. Bring a high-capacity power bank. You can recharge only when we reach Aguas Calientes on Day 4 (at a restaurant).

What happens if I get altitude sickness?

Our guides are trained in first aid and carry oxygen. We pace the group slowly ("Paso de Inca") to help everyone acclimatize safely.
