Questions before you go
Clear answers for planning this tour.
Is the Nazca Lines flight safe?
Yes. We work only with established air operators certified by Peru's civil aviation authority (DGAC), using well-maintained aircraft and experienced pilots. Flights depend on weather conditions, and if a flight is delayed or rescheduled for safety reasons, our team will reorganize your day.
Can I get motion sickness on the Nazca flight?
It's possible. The small aircraft bank left and right so both sides can see the figures. We recommend a light breakfast before the flight, and if you're prone to motion sickness, ask your doctor about prevention before your trip.
Why do you fly over the Nazca Lines from Pisco instead of Nazca?
Flying from Pisco Airport, near Paracas, means you avoid the long road trip to Nazca and back. You enjoy the Nazca Lines in a few hours and return to your 5-star hotel in Paracas the same day, a much more comfortable option for a luxury journey.
What wildlife will I see at the Ballestas Islands?
The Ballestas Islands are home to sea lions, Humboldt penguins and thousands of seabirds such as boobies, cormorants and pelicans. On the way, you'll also see the famous Candelabra geoglyph carved into the desert hillside.
Are hotels included in the tour price?
Yes. The US$8,100 per person price includes 9 nights in 5-star hotels: Belmond Miraflores Park (Lima), Hotel Paracas, a Luxury Collection Resort (Paracas), Tambo del Inka (Sacred Valley), Sumaq Machu Picchu Hotel (Aguas Calientes) and JW Marriott El Convento (Cusco). Upgrades to Belmond hotels in Cusco are available at an additional cost.
How do we travel from Lima to Paracas?
You travel in a private vehicle with a professional driver. The trip along the Pacific coast takes about 3.5 to 4 hours, with stops whenever you like. On Day 4, your private vehicle takes you directly from Paracas back to Lima Airport for your flight to Cusco.
Is Huacachina included?
Huacachina is not included in the standard itinerary, but it can be added as an optional private excursion from Paracas, with dune buggies and sandboarding in the desert oasis.
What should I know about altitude sickness?
After the coast, the Andes portion of this journey begins in the Sacred Valley (about 2,870 m / 9,420 ft), which sits lower than Cusco (about 3,400 m / 11,155 ft), so your body can adjust gently. Rainbow Mountain reaches 5,036 m (16,522 ft) and is scheduled for Day 9, once you are well acclimatized. Travelers with medical concerns should consult their doctor before traveling.
Is this a private tour?
Yes. This journey is operated directly by TrueAndes, with private transportation, private English-speaking guides and 24/7 assistance from our team throughout the trip.
How much is the deposit to confirm my booking?
A 50% deposit is required to confirm your reservation. The remaining 50% is paid upon arrival in Cusco, before the tour begins. All reservations are subject to the availability of Machu Picchu tickets, hotels, trains, flights and the Nazca scenic flight.
